Citisem ca, pana in 1986, suprematia in vanzari era detinuta de Coca-Cola. Campaniile publicitare ale companiei Coca-Cola se bazau pe "traditie", "experienta in domeniu", "primii" si altele. Directorul de marketing de la Pepsi a detronat in acel an Coca-Cola printr'o campanie publicitara de genul: "Nu v'ati saturat de vechi? Incercati ceva nou! Pepsi-Cola!"
